Current news

One year ago Runes of Magic was officially launched. It has been a great year for the game and for its community and that's why we are celebrating our first anniversary with you.
And today will see the culmination of it all!
All players logging in today will receive a truly exclusive Birthday Companion pet! A useful little friend, raising your drop chances once a day! Then there's the 100 Rubies for free give-away. Should you not have logged in since yesterday, you better do. Everyone logging in will receive 100 Rubies once for every server with a level 11 character on.
Additionally all players will gain Triple XP from monster kills and quests and Triple TP for all monsters slain this weekend! Monster hunting never paid better.
And last but not least: Tonight at 20:00h CET (7pm GMT) the celebration will reach the live servers! Your community managers will be live on selected servers to celebrate the occasion, have a chat with you and just be there for the fun of it.
Oh… and don't forget: There's still a video coming… keep an eye on the One Year Anniversary page. (And lots of thanks to all our players participating in the making of a video to show the "Best of RoM".)

„Fire!“
Amongst the frantic shouting of foot soldiers, the cries of the wounded and the thundering blasts from siege machines all around, the Commanders voice was nearly drowned out.
They were pressed hard, defending the castle with their backs to the wall.
Mages on the balconies made heaven and hell rain on the enemy and archers aiming carefully to hit the attackers were hurt the most and on the ground. Only feet away from the castle's walls, experienced melee fighters - men and women alike - threw themselves right into the fray.
But even with all their magical towers, throwing fire & lightning at the ever-pushing enemy forces, they seemed to lose the battle.
"Protect the throne room at all costs!", the guild leader yelled while decapitating a rogue, who tried to sneak past, with his mighty shield.
It was too late, he knew the outer gates had fallen. Their nodes had been taken by the enemy forces and too many of his guild members had suffered heavily from the impact of powerful siege engines, slowly pushing their way further into their guild's grounds.
Will YOU do better?
