New Public Encounter: „Varanas Nightmare“

It was a night like any other. Children were sent off to bed while the grown-ups enjoyed the quiet evening behind the walls of the city.

While up in the north the Naga's advancement posed an ever greater threat, Varanas was still a place of calm and peace...

...until a blood-curdling scream cut through the night like a sword.

Alerted by this, guards streamed through the streets to find the source of the screaming.

[Change of Scene]

Julius Lifay, renowned hero and captain of the Varanas Guard, who only hours ago sat and drunk and laughed with his friends and comrades, now lay on the floor, unconscious. With a loud scream of terror he had collapsed from one moment to the next.

After many failed attempts to wake Julius from his sleep, the Eye of Wisdom rallied many priests and mages to investigate his strange illness.

Only when one of the researchers found her way into Julius' mind, the true reason for his state was discovered: deep inside his mind a parasite nested itself and tried to spread from there to other people's minds.

It was a nightmare, originating from the twisted mind of the Demon Lord himself - a nightmare full of visions of a destroyed Varanas, full of dangerous creatures!

Although the priests with all their powers contained this nightmare in Julius' mind, there is much more to do to rid this poor soul of his inner demons and save the minds of the people of Varanas from falling into despair.
