Patch 3.0.0 - The King's Call

22.04.2010

Danatros dreams ruggedly evaporated into nothingness as his brother's steel-clad elbow connected with his ribs. "Wake up you hibernating fox", murmured the quirky grinning Warrior at his old companion. "We're going to land any minute now and you're missing the gorgeous view from up here. And besides, you're drooling on my armor."

Andhor rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, yawned heartily and blinked his small, tired eyes a couple times. With the rush of wind in his long elven ears he turned his gaze downwards and could only gape in awe: in front of him lay a nearly forgotten continent full of magnificent meadows and mighty waterfalls, giant statues of heroes of past ages which were waiting to be explored by Taborean heroes.

Indeed they had reached their destination and end of their journey on the mighty dragon's back which had transported them here the last couple days.

The "King's Call“ had reached even their ears.

The gates to the third chapter of Runes of Magic have been opened. With the successful launch of update 3.0.0 ‘The King’s Call’ we just launched the first phase of the extensive expansion ‘The Elder Kingdoms’.

Players can now set foot in the first region of the new continent of Zandorya with its imposing cities and vast estates to discover a large array of new game content. The hotly-contested Kingdom of Dalanis can be reached by high-level online adventurers after having completed a series of quests in the Aotulia Volcano region.

Players can also expect new rewards in the form of valuable armor in the first phase of Chapter III.

They will now be able to endow their armor with individual attributes by swapping gold and ‘Ancient Mementos’ for fusion stones. In response to requests from our community to render the challenging dungeons more accessible to less-experienced players, they now have the option of choosing difficulty levels on entering the instances ‘Hall of Survivors’ and ‘Heart of the Ocean’.

Cautious players can now also save their game progress in specific instances which means that when loading a saved game status, they no longer need to tackle bosses that they have already defeated.

This first phase of Chapter III also brings an expanded in-game Monster Card System which allows players to gain valuable cards that are dropped with a little bit of luck by NPC opponents they have defeated.

The monster cards now hold additional attribute points to improve their character’s stats. Update 3.0.0 also contains the announced three new guild drill grounds, six new guild quests and stone fortifications to expand the guild castles. Furthermore, elite skills have been adjusted in order to optimize the game balance.

As with all Runes of Magic expansions, update 3.0.0 is free of charge and installs itself automatically when the game is started.
