This week we celebrate the sixth continuous week of ice and snow in Berlin. Temperatures are below freezing but here's something hot: A brilliant summary of Runes of Magic, its content and features! Plus a place to show your fellow players who's behind that avatar of yours!

    MMOVoices on Runes of Magic
A long article explaining of Runes of Magic and showing what we do right:

"RoM has made a cornucopia of brilliantly fun changes and additions to the MMORPG genre, but each of those changes are like a pebble thrown into a lake creating a ripple affect that spreads out touching and playing off all the aspects of RoM.
I don’t think it’s a stretch in any form of the word to say that RoM has swooped in under the radar and fooled us all."

Read the whole background article "Why Runes of Magic Is The Biggest Rock…" on MMOVoices

    Onlinewelten.com proudly presents "Rom Faces"
Tired of hiding behind your in-game character? You want to see who the people you are playing with really are? Here's your chance: Onlinewelten.com has opened their newest project: Rom-Faces.de a gallery where you can show who you are!

Have a great week in Taborea!

The holiday season is approaching and everything here at Frogster is on course for the time ahead of us.

We are looking forward to release our next monthly content update in the earlier parts of December (as you would expect :)) and have prepared a real bonfire of goodies for everyone - both ingame and here on the website.

Until then, let's have a look what's going on at the moment:

    Moa's Charity Steed
This year we're fundraising for an organization that fights for children's rights worldwide.

For every Moa's Charity Steed you buy in our Item Shop we donate 3 Euros to Save the Children Deutschland e.V.

More on that on our Charity information page.

    Gamestar.hu give-away
As our Hungarian friends have informed us, Gamestar.hu is giving away Runes of Magic goodies. If you're brave (or speak Hungarian), send them an email.

    Runesofmagic.hu give-away
The Hungarian fansite runesofmagic.hu has organised their own contest: Draw your own "Runes of Magic" comic strip and send it to runesofmagic.hu - the best comic will be awarded by the Admin team with a signed game box and a Runes of Magic poster. Looking forward to the results!

Have a great time and maybe see you on the forums.

    Community Spotlight 18 November 2009
After a promising spring and a good summer Runes of Magic is still going strong in autumn. Taborea is flourishing, we are on a steady course and the buzz continues.

Looking back at the last few weeks, we have had quite our share of attention in the press and the forums.

    Runewaker Dev-Chat
Runes of Magic developer Runewaker and Sean Kauppinen hosted an impromptu community dev-chat.
You can find a transcript of that Q&A on our forums

    Revenge of the Zurhidon
Don't forget the "Revenge of the Zurhidon" - Live Event. Tonight at 7pm GMT / 20:00h CET we are entertaining Smacht (EN PvP) and Riocht (DE PvE).

Before the event starts, we will announce the event zone. Players who wish to participate, will find the Zurhidon around Harf Trading Post and Silverfell.

    Mount Give-Away
We will be introducing new mounts to Runes of Magic. But you can already win one of these mounts before that. Mondes Persistants, Runes of Magic Online, MMORPGHispano, Runes of Magic Italia and Runes of Magic Hungary are giving away two of the new mounts.

    The Press Room
We have something to read for you again:
OnRPG.com features an interview with Community Manager Kerensky

MMO24 is running their Runes of Magic competition and has sent Community Manager Kerensky a number of questions] too.

The TenTonHammer has landed a blow on Runes of Magic again and we left it with a good review and several great class guides

The guys over at MMORPG Center were interested to hear about the view of a Product Manager. Matthias Fellinger Runes of Magic product manager, answered.

And our friends at Boomtown published their Runes of Magic review. Thanks a lot to the English Boomtown staff!

And that about wraps it up for this week.
    Have a great time!

    Hey everyone,

this weeks spotlight will be a little shorter than you are used to. I just have a few sites for you to look at but I hope you will enjoy reading them as much as I did.

At first, let me start with a brandnew review from the guys at MMO News where we reached a 8.1 rating.
They also have a Halloween contest right on their side. Just head over and win one of 20 keys to get an exclusive Manticor pet as well as a bundle full of ingame items. Good luck.

Another review comes from Gamesource. It leads you through the Weeping Coast, Savage Lands, the Aotulia Vulcano and much more. Hop over there and have a look. (Italian)
In addition they have started an Itemcode Giveaway Event. Participate and win one of 20 Starter Kits also containing the exclusive Manticore pet and much more.

  • 08.10.2009

    Hey everyone,

that was an exciting week! We got new content and new features for you. There is a new zone to explore and new enemies to battle.

But that does not mean that the rest of the world is sitting still! On the contrary: New reviews have come in from Spain!

Runes of Magic Reviews from Spain
With The Elven Prophecy released, magazines in Europe have taken the opportunity to review Runes of Magic or at least pay the Elves a visit. And the first reviews that have come in are from Spain:

Plus we are on the covers of the magazines there too!

    Exclusive Trailers on Gametrailers.com
And from the US we heard that Gametrailers.com has some Runes of Magic videos on their site that you simply can't miss!

We will keep you informed about what else we got for you in later news.

Until then: Show those Naga what real heroic fighters are made from!

Hi and welcome to a new issue of the Community Spotlight.

This week we have some news for you from all over the world. Our friends in Spain, Hungary and the US have something to share with you!

    News from Budapest!
Our friends from RunesofMagic.hu have made me aware that Gamestar.hu has reviewed Runes of Magic lately and they awarded us with 8.5 / 10 points!

Also RoM.hu has told us about the Budapest Game Show on 31 October 2009 - check their site for more information (maybe you'll spot the RoM.hu team there :) )!

    News from Madrid!
The Spanish speaking Runes of Magic community is organising a 1 vs. 1 PvP tournament on the Spanish server! All Spanish speaking players between lv. 30 and 55 are invited to join the tournament. You can win(g) great in-game items and the fame to be the best duelist on the server!

Check out our Spanish site and forums for more detailed information and the enrollment threads.

    News from the US
A few days ago, MMORPG.com's Jon Wood has put together "The List: Five Most Interesting MMOs of 2009" - he says that amongst the grand total of 27 MMO launches, he thinks Runes of Magic (coming in 4th place) is "a nice-looking game that looked like a real competitor to its AAA P2P counterparts."

We think that being one of the five most interesting MMORPGs of 2009 is quite cool.

    That's it for now.

Have a great time in Taborea!

  • 17.09.2009

Chapter II - The Elven Prophecy has launched and thousands of players are enjoying the new content.

All over Europe and America the press has picked up the launch news but there is one instance that we want to draw your attention to.

Snes from the Dutch gaming site Female Gamers has published a great (P)Review of Runes of Magic. Dutch speaking players can read the Preview on Female Gamers, English speaking players can read the article on Dusajournalism.

    Fansite Rallye Event

Also we would like to congratulate the winners of the Fansite Rallye event we ran during the launch-preparation downtime.

The correct sentence was "Beware the evil Naga when you are travelling north!" (or alternatively "When you are travelling north beware the evil Naga!").

We have drawn the 5 winners from the more than 4100 correct entries and already sent them their item bundle (including a set of wings!).

Congratulations to the five lucky winners!

    That's it for now.
    See you in Taborea.
