PvE servers stand for ‘player versus environment’ meaning that other players may not attack you without your permission. • Mages use fire and electrical bolt attacks and can mete out a great deal of magical damage.
  • Priests are not only experts in defending and restoring their comrades’ health points and other attributes, they also have the ability to resurrect fallen compatriots.
  • Knights are the most heavily armoured class in the game and are the only class that can wear plate armour. They can also utilize skills imbued with the power of light to crush their enemies.
  • Druids are powerful healers who support Priests with rapid healing spells. They can also cause long-lasting damage to their opponents. They are veritable all-rounders.

9. Character Overview

To open the Character Window press ‘C’ or use the symbol in the function interface.

  • Armour:
Your character is displayed in the middle of the screen with all the armour they are currently equipped with. You can adjust the viewing angle using the mouse. There are fields surrounding the character that correspond to specific body parts into which items from your inventory can be placed. By moving the mouse cursor over a piece of armour you can display further fields. These are either grey (empty), or contain items from your inventory that match this category.
  • Attributes:
On the left-hand side you will find your character’s attributes. The levels of the various attributes depend on class, level, and armour. Due to the various skills that different classes may possess, it is worth choosing attributes that would most benefit your character’s particular class.
    • Strength: Increases damage and maximum possible health. Increases attack power for classes who cause physical damage.
    • Dexterity: Increases chance to hit and dodge. Increases attack power for Rogues and Scouts.
    • Stamina: Increases physical defence, maximum health, and the speed at which health is restored.
    • Intelligence: Raises magical and physical attack power, and increases maximum mana.
    • Wisdom: Increases magical defence, maximum mana, magical hit chance, and the speed at which mana is regenerated.
  • Personal Information
Beneath the character display you will find a box in which you can write a personal message. This can be found under ‘Functions’ > ‘Social’ > ‘Personal Information’. This information can be viewed by other players.
  • Weapon Skills
There are further tabs on the right-hand side of the window. The first tab shows a helmet – this is the armour window mentioned previously. The sword tab directly beneath displays weapon skills. All weapon types in the game are listed here and your progress with each sort is displayed alongside. For example, next to ‘Dagger’ there is a ration: 10/80. This means that you have achieved level 10 of a possible 80 levels. The better you master a weapon, the more damage you can exact with it.
  • Crafting
The Fire tab allows you to find out how advanced you are in the various crafting professions. Progress is shown in percent. Once you have mastered 100%, all crafting levels can then be achieved.
  • Title
The tab decorated with a medal lists all the titles you have received during the game. If you would like your title to be displayed next to your character name, select the title and confirm the selection.
  • Emotes
The tab displaying a head gives you access to a list of commands which your character will carry out with various gestures, so-called ‘emotes’. If you click on of these, your character will act out the gesture. Individual emotes can be placed on the quickbar for more rapid use.
  • Class List
The class list shows which classes your character belongs to, which level each respective class has achieved, and how many experience points are required in order to reach the next respective level.

10. Inventory

The inventory/backpack can be opened by using the keyboard shortcut ‘B’. All items collected though gathering, crafting, looting, or quests are automatically placed in the inventory. There they can be moved about and stacked; and items that are no longer required can be thrown away. Some unwanted items can also be sold to merchants.

There is also extra inventory space for pets and mounts, where you can place your trusty companions for safe keeping when you do not require them, or if you wish to summon another creature instead. This means that you won’t have to shove your lovable friends in amongst the loot in your backpack.

11. Skills

You can view your character’s skills by pressing ‘K’ on your keyboard. Skills are classified as either General’, `Class’, or ‘Class-specific’.

  • ‘General’ skills of your class are listed under the second tab
  • The third tab contains all the skills of your secondary class that can be learned during your adventure.
  • Under ‘Class-specific’ you will find all further skills that your character has learnt during the course of the game. All skills can be levelled-up using talent points.
  • The fifth tab is only available for the Guardian class. It contains the pet skills.

Talent points are used to increase the level of skills. You receive talent points for defeating monsters and successfully completing quests. The exact number of talent points available to you is displayed beneath the skills. You can distribute talent points at any time. To improve a skill, clickk on the skill and you can take it to the next level in the following window.

12. Quests

The most useful item for completing quests is the Quest Log which lists all quests that have been accepted and those which have yet to be completed. You can open the Quest Log by clicking ‘L’, or by clicking ‘Quest’ in the function menu. In the left-hand section of the Quest Log, all quests are sorted according to region and quest level. To view the quest description or to see the quest reward, simply select the name of the quest and the details will be displayed on the right. You can also automatically travel to monsters, NPCs, or quest items if they are displayed in blue. Right-click on one and select ‘Follow’.

  • Display Quest: You can have quests displayed on the right of your screen by ticking the box next to the quests in question in the Quest Log.
  • Complete Quest:: Once you have achieved the goals of the quest, the quest will be displayed as ‘Completed’ in the Quest Log. You can then hand the completed quest to the NPC to receive your reward.

13. Combat

To take part in combat you must first have targeted an opponent and have selected the desired combat skill from the action bar. For close-combat, your character will advance towards the targeted enemy. You can use various skills during combat. After using a skill, the skill may be displayed in red meaning that the skill must recharge before it can be used again. The same happens if the skill cannot be used for other reasons, such as too much distance between the character and the target.

14. Guilds

Many players choose to join guilds in order to communicate easily with each other and to organise joint activities. Once in a guild, you can use guild chat by entering the command ‘/g’ and the guild window is opened by pressing ‘G’. The guild window displays useful information such as the online status of members as well as their respective levels and class affiliations. You can find your guild’s latest messages under ‘Bulletin’ and war statistics are stored under ‘War Info’. Gold and resources can also be donated to the guild by its members, which can be seen under ‘Resources’. Once you have enough gold and other resources you will be able to construct a guild castle. You can continually expand your guild castle throughout the game and guild members will profit from special buffs depending on the construction of the guild castle.

15. Multiple Class System

Once you reach level 10 you can choose a second class for your character. You can choose any class you like for either your first or second class. These classes can be switched between by visiting the class trainer who can be found in Varanas and in other locations in the game. Of all the active primary class’s skills will be available to you whereas only the general skills of the secondary class can be used. Additionally, 10% of the value of all secondary class attributes will be conferred upon your primary class. However, you can only use talent- and experience points and attributes on your active main class. Furthermore, only your primary class’s primary skills can be upgraded with talent points. It is not possible for your secondary class’s level to exceed that of your primary class. If you wish to train and upgrade your secondary class, you must switch classes by visiting the class trainer. There is no disadvantage to changing primary and secondary classes often – switching will not cause you to lose levels you have gained with your primary class!

Levels previously gained with a class that is no-longer your primary will be saved and reactivated should you choose to make it your primary again.

Certain classes are restricted to certain races: Only Elves can be Druids and Wardens, while only Humans can be Knights and Priests.

Once both classes have achieved level 20 you can select a third class by completing a quest from Johnny Dutin in Varanas. Once this is complete, you will find a new third class in the dropdown menu in the class interface.

Important: No more than 2 classes can be active at any given time (a primary and a secondary class).

16. Instances

In contrast to the openly accessible world of Taborea, there are also Instances which can only be reached through special gateways. These gateways only allow groups/raid groups with a specific number of players to enter. Maximum group numbers vary between instances. Instances offer players real challenges – instance opponents are stronger than their counterparts in the wider Taborean world. Alongside normal opponents, there are also ‘Bosses’ or ‘Boss Opponents’ who require a great deal of tactics from the groups to be defeated. Taking part in instances can be very lucrative and victorious groups can expect high quality rewards and lots of experience points.

17. PVP

Player versus player is a feature that allows players to attack other players. There are various ways of taking part in PvP activities.

  • Duel - To challenge another player to a duel, click on the player’s character and right-click on the small portrait that appears at the top of the screen and select ‘Duel’. This player then receives an invitation to the duel which, when accepted, will start a 5 second countdown to the beginning of the duel. Once this countdown has expired both players can attack each other. The minimap will display a red zone in which the duel will take place. If a player leaves this zone they forfeit the duel. This form of PvP is purely a matter of honour – players may lose HP but they cannot die. Once one dueller’s HP falls to zero, they lose and the duel is ended.
  • Open PvP means that players can attack each other without having a commence a duel. The type of PvP in each game world depends on the server type. There are PvE and PvP servers. You will need PK the (player killer) skill to be able to take part in PvP activities which can be obtained in the Varanas class hall after reaching level 15.
  • If you want to attack another player on a PvE server you must first have the PK skill. Once this skill has been obtained, a red mask will appear above the character to show that they currently in PK mode. The character can then only attack other players who are also in PK mode. Be aware that this is not a duel – you will die if you lose the battle. The loser will experience all the negative effects of death which are applied, for example, when you are defeated by a monster.
  • PvP servers are there for players who want to experience PvP action throughout their whole gaming experience. You can, however, switch off PK mode for a break. After level 15 you can be attacked and killed by other players at any time (if PK mode is enabled). The difference between PvP and PvE is that your target need not have PK mode enabled in order for you to be able to attack them. A PvP server is the best choice for players who seek confrontations with other players and can live with the consequences of losing. If you prefer to do things at your own pace and join up with other players without the threat of battle, you should select a PvE server.
  • Players or groups of players can fight each other in an arena battle to find out which the strongest team is or who the most adept arena warrior is. The battles take place in arena specially conceived for this sort of competition.
  • Players can also join together in randomly selected teams against other similarly devised teams on special battlefields. Teams must then gather points or specific items from the opponent’s stronghold and bring them back to their team. There are points to be collected in both variants of the battlefield. The first team to gather the right amount points within the allotted time wins.

The settings can be found in the function interface ‘System’ in the menu or by pressing Esc. There is a wide variety of options available:

  • Return to Game: Use this to exit the menu and resume your game.

  • Exit Game: This option ends the current gaming session.
