Runes

A combination of these mysterious symbols — made by the god Ayvenas — created the world of Taborea. The magic of Taborea and its inhabitants is linked to the runes, but the knowledge needed to master the power of these runes is vast. With training, steadfast conviction and ironclad will, the people of Taborea learned to harness this power.

Each of the ancient relics harbours unique attributes. Combining certain runes with certain attributes in certain ways can create life or be very destructive.

The Ancient Kingdoms’ deep understanding of the runes enabled the people of Taborea to control and use (and sometimes abuse) the runes’ great powers. But the pure knowledge was buried as the walls of Taborea’s magnificent realms crumbled.

Only a feeble understanding remains, but there has been slight progress over the years in controlling the power of the runes, and more combinations and applications are discovered each day.

Rune Stones

A rune stone looks like a normal rock engraved with a single symbol. Many exist, and each is a crystallized manifestation of single corresponding rune.

Once a rune stone is bound to an object, the object adopts the attributes of that rune.
